Jonathan and Joshua Luna's THE SWORD faces a dual
sell out!
December 6th, 2007 (Berkeley, CA) - Barely twenty
four hours after release, both THE SWORD #3 and the current printing of
#1 have sold out at a distribution level.
"Surprisingly, THE SWORD #3 came out a week
early and it sold out before its initial release date," series artist
Jonathan Luna said. "We’re absolutely thrilled that people
are enjoying The Sword."
This follows the success of their first two series,
ULTRA and GIRLS, which both saw multiple sell outs and subsequent reprints
for the first several issues. THE SWORD continues this trend with all
three issues selling out soon after release. Like with the recent sell
out of the second issue, both #1 and #3 will be printed once again in
an effort to meet demand.
Writer Joshua Luna said, "It’s great that
the demand is high, and, more importantly, that we are able to meet that
demand with extra printings."
THE SWORD #1 and #3 (OCT078039) second printings,
both 32-page comic books for $2.99, will be available December 27th. In
addition, the current printing of THE SWORD #2 is in stock.

THE SWORD STRIKES A SELL OUT!
Luna Brothers' newest series sells out!
November 15th, 2007 (Berkeley, CA) - THE SWORD, the
all-new ongoing series created by ULTRA and GIRLS' Luna Brothers, has
carried a buzz from its initial announcement through its release, resulting
in the second issue selling out at a distribution level.
“We’re just having so much fun creating
this story,” said co-creator/artist Jonathan Luna. “The fact
that there is such high demand for this book really means a lot to us.”
THE SWORD's second issue opens with the sole survivor
of a family's brutal murder, Dara Brighton, discovering a sword which
may be the key to her revenge. The subsequent hints to the series' ongoing
mystery has generated a demand so overwhelming a second printing is already
on its way.
Co-creator/writer Joshua Luna said, “As the
story progresses, we plan to have Dara's path of revenge grow more and
more epic in scale, and we're just very excited that there is a solid
readership that'll be along for the ride."
THE SWORD #2 SECOND PRINTING (SEP078031), a 32-page
full color comic book for $2.99, will be in stores on November 28th. THE
SWORD #3 (OCT072024) is available for reorder and will hit stands on December

GIRLS The Complete Collection Jul.28.07
Some of you may have noticed the complete collection
of GIRLS in a hardcover format at Amazon.com. Erik Larsen/Image officially
announced it at Comic-Con. Above, is the full cover of the slipcase (front,
spine, back).
The Luna Brothers, creators behind GIRLS and ULTRA,
and artists of Marvel's SPIDER-WOMAN, return this October with an all-new
modern-day fantasy series, THE SWORD.
"Like our previous titles, THE SWORD weaves
the supernatural and fantastic into our everyday world," explained
writer Joshua Luna. "But unlike those books, THE SWORD focuses on
revenge and power."
Dara, the series' protagonist, is a young woman whose
life is destroyed by powerful strangers who are unlike anything she has
ever imagined. Just when things are at their worst she discovers a unique
sword with the power to take her revenge. Combining elements of Kill Bill,
Highlander and Blade of the Immortal with the patented Luna Brothers twist,
THE SWORD will be a must read for any fan of the action, drama, or fantasy
genres.
"We came up with THE SWORD two years ago,"
said artist Jonathan Luna. "Every now and then it would pop into
our conversations and never get out of our heads, so we knew this was
a story that we had to tell."
"Jonathan and Joshua embody everything that
Image Comics is about," added Image Comics' Publisher, Erik Larsen.
"We found them in a blind submission and through their work with
us they've become industry superstars. I'm ecstatic to read their newest
series."
THE SWORD #1 (AUG071971), a 32-page comic with a
cover price of $2.99, will be available for order in the August issue
of Previews and will go on sale in October 17.
